Hello, everyone!
I am BACK to do a mini review of possibly the most highly anticipated makeup line of the year, FENTY BEAUTY by Rihanna!
I was so incredibly excited when I saw she announced that her makeup line was coming. I quickly followed "fentybeauty" on instagram, even though there were zero photos added to the account. Little did I know, photos wouldn't come until months later.
It wasn't until the day before that we really started to see sneak peeks of the line. Rihanna hosted a massive launch party where big name influencers could attend, and show photos to their following of what to expect from the line. Needless to day, I was checking social media A LOT that night!
Without further adieu, let's jump on into the review.

PRO FILT'R SOFT MATTE FOUNDATION
Shade: 210
What it claims to do:
"Medium to full coverage for all. Longwear. Light as air."
Upon application, I noticed how watery the formula was. The foundation is definitely a thinner consistency, but I was still pleasantly surprised with the coverage. I have some discolouration and redness on the bottom half of my face, and it covered up those areas with ease. In terms of longevity, I wore this for an entire 9 hour day of work and my skin was not oily at the end of the day -- there was definitely no need to blot. For reference, I have normal skin that I wouldn't call oily or dry. I think this is definitely the hero product of the line! Another amazing bonus is that this foundation boasts a range of 43 shades -- incredible!
KILLAWATT FREESTLE HIGHLIGHTER DUO
Shade: Mean Money / Hu$tla Baby
I hate to say it, but I think this is the most disappointing product that I purchased from the line. I will admit, upon my first application on video I thought it was really nice. I mixed both shades together and found it added a nice easy glow to the skin. However, upon swatching both sides separately after the video, I realized that all the pigment was actually just coming from the Hustla Baby side. Mean Money gives off next to zero pigment, as you can see in the swatch. And for the record, I was pressing HARD to make any pigment come onto my skin for that swatch. Is the Hustla Baby side beautiful? Sure is. Does it make the product worth purchasing to only use one side? I would say no.
MATCH STIX
Shade: Porcelain
What we have here is a love-hate relationship with this product. I find it to be a tad stiff to work with. I want to be able to apply this right onto my skin and blend out with a brush, however, that is not what I get to do to make it look great on the skin. I find the best application is to apply it to the fingers directly, then tap onto your skin and continue to blend with the hands. I do like how it looks after everything is blended out, but it takes a while. Am I going to return it? No. Will I repurchase it when it runs out? Most likely not.
MATCH STIX
Shade: Mocha
I have mostly the same thoughts as the product above, as they are the same exact formula. Like I said, I wanted to be able to apply this directly onto the hollows of my face, and then continue to blend out with a brush. This was not the case, as I found the formula too stiff to be able to seamlessly blend it that way. The best application turned out to be me applying this onto a brush, then applying it onto the skin from there. I noticed I did still have some blending trouble, but I think that may actually be due to this shade just being a tad too dark for me. A win for both of the Match Stix is the packaging -- I do really love that aspect of them!
GLOSS BOMB
This is marketed as a universal lip luminizer, and it is literally that. This shade is perfectly universal, meaning it will flatter every single skin tone out there. This formula is extremely comfortable on the lips, and not sticky at all. There are small flecks of shimmer, but nothing that is too overpowering. The applicator is a larger than normal doe foot, which I got used to right away. At first it was intimidating, but you get over it real quick!
OVERALL THOUGHTS:
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a tad disappointed. I wanted so bad to love everything I purchased, but that didn't quite prove to be the case. I absolutely love the foundation, and can definitely see myself repurchasing it in the future. The second runner up is the lip gloss. This is something I will be keeping in my purse for those times I am wanting a quick and easy wash of colour. The Match Stix I still feel undecided on. I'm thinking I may just need to brainstorm new ways to apply them; if any of you have any suggestions, please let me know! And the highlighter, sadly, is the biggest disappointment.
Thanks for reading! I will talk to you soon in my next post!
